Meet our New Year Couple ~ Miss Angel and Mr. Tony

Happy New Year everyone! It is amazing that we've spent several months together on our GV website (and many years together face to face)! Today I would like to introduce you to our lovely couple, Miss Angel and Mr. Tony. In frigid cold weather as this, one would not imagine going to Mammoth a warm way to bond two lives growing apart ~ but in God's special way, He bought these two together in the most unlikely way!

Angel is a very outgoing and chatty girl, while Tony is gentle and calm. They met in our very own Living Springs 活泉 Fellowship for single working adults at EFC Irvine. They had one shared special interest ~ and that was serving in Praise and Worship together! After several months of singing together, they started dating and all seemed smooth in their new role as boy and girlfriend.

One day (several months after that), they went on a ski trip to mammoth with other 活泉 people, and it was then that Angel decided it was time to give Tony a special 'ticket', known affectionately in the taiwanese circle as  好人卡. During the mammoth trip, Angel was extremely quiet (very uncharacteristic of her), and she rehearsed how she would break it to Tony on their way home from the mountains. Almost toward the end of the journey down the treacherous mountains, Angel noticed that her purse was nowhere to be found (It was actually left in a restaurant an hour and a half between Irvine and Mammoth). This adversity gave Tony the perfect opportunity to redeem himself. He volunteered to drive Angel all the way back to retrieve her lost purse, and not only that ~ he continuously chatted up a storm (very uncharacteristic of Tony). This changed Angel's impression of Tony and she decided....

Knowing that this was his last chance to re-spark their relationship, Tony became a chatterbox, and a very interesting one indeed. So Angel put away her 好人卡 and decided to marry him (several months later). When he proposed, he gave her a very strange-looking engagement ring, given by Tony's dad since that was what he could muster up and find at the time. It may as well been a coke bottle-cap, according to Angel.

But she was moved by his sincerity, and was very glad she decided to give him a 2nd chance after his heroic gesture on that cold, winter evening up and down Mammoth mountain. And together, they told their parents (who are overseas) about their engagement, and then they got married!

Several months later (you can see, I'm not too good with timelines, oops!), they had sweet little baby! She is such a cute little baby and will turn ONE in April! May the Lord continue to bless this special family! We love you and Happy  New Year!
