This past week, we went to Big Bear for Spring break! We loaded up our minivan and headed towards J.J.Bakery for lunch (and ran into Uncle Sam Liu & coworkers!) before leaving for the mountains. We thought of Uncle Byron and Auntie Sarah's "It's A Grind" coffee shop, which was 3 stores away, and decided to visit them.
In this economic climate ~ every small business is challenged with belt-strapped customers. As with all GV members who are starting their own business, we will all continue to pray for their finances, time, energy, and family-work adjustment.

The coffee shop was elegant and filled with the sweet aroma of coffee beans. Some patrons were on their lap-tops or chatting with friends. Uncle Byron had already left the store to help with their other store, Dairy Queen. In the display cases were tempting desserts waving at me, so I gave in and bought banana-walnut bread, a decandent double-chocolate cookie, and a peanut butter cookie.
As it turned out, THAT was the best decision I made, since we stayed in the cabin most of the time and Big Bear was freezing! Abbie (as you can see) enjoyed these pastries and they were the best desserts we had during our mountaintop escapade!

May the Lord continue to watch over everyone, whatever trade you are in, as you do your best to support your family!
