Dear Brothers and Sisters in Grapevine Fellowship,
Thank you all for your love and prayers to our family during the difficult time of our lives. My family and I want to give our sincere thanks to all of you.
A special thanks to those who were in the choir that sang one of my favorite hymns for my father yesterday, “Footprints on the Sand.” The footprints that Jesus left behind for His students / believers to follow imaged the footprints that my father left behind for me to follow. Surely there is no comparison of God’s footprints with my father’s; however, they are so dear to me, and already imprinted in me. They are part of me and make up who I am. They will never be washed away. You sang it beautifully just like the professional recorded CD! You voices harmonized and touched my heart and soul, and I am sure all were touched as well.
My mom, uncles, and aunts were truly touched by the memorial service of my father yesterday. They complimented on how it was simple and yet formal. They were touched by the help of brothers and sisters in Christ who mostly never met my father and yet show so much love for us.
If a seed has to fall onto the ground in order to grow and bear fruits, then my father is the seed that fell onto the ground to get my mom saved. She said herself that she will come with us to church on Sundays. It's a great start isn't it? May God's love touch her heart and she will know His love directly and truly. It is really heartache to lose a parent or someone dear, but with hope of Christ's salvation, it's a true comfort. It's great to know that we will meet again in Heaven.
Lastly, I want to share with you some of my thoughts: Don’t hesitate to show your love for your family and friends, and tell them how much you love them. Forgive those who have hurt you, and make up with them. Don’t wait until it’s too late, live without regrets.
Love,
Lisa Chow
